If y’all want the best banh mi, look for a stall/cart on the sidewalk that warm their baguettes in a barrel filled with hot charcoal. Also, they should have a homemade sauce bowl, a meat sauce of some sort (no maggi or hot saracha bs). If they don’t have these 2 key ingredients, they are cutting corners on the lost art !

Vietnam is definitely a whole lot cheaper, it’s just so darn hot and humid is my only complaint. I don’t remember complaining about that when I was a kid though in Saigon.

A little over a dollar for bánh mì freaking cheap and delicious food. Everything is so cheap and affordable. Rent. Food. Freaking cheap and delicious. People very friendly

Bánh mì is very very cheap and delicious in vn. In US Bánh mì is $5 very expensive
