🇻🇳 Saigon comes alive on Saturdays! I spent the day exploring Ho Chi Minh City, starting with the annual Áo Dài Festival, a beautiful celebration of Vietnamese culture and fashion. Then, I visited the iconic Apartment Café, a hidden gem filled with cozy coffee spots. To end the day, I tried a new restaurant for dinner—watch till the end to see what I ate!

FYI: I was born where you are visiting, but back in those days it was called Indochine Francaise, that place is just too hot tropical humid weather, this is why we had a residence in Dalat.

Yes the foood in the south is more deeper, sweeter and saltier. More flavours
I like your video. Later this year I have plans to travel to Saigon and dine at the fine restaurants in District 1

Nice to see sharing your journey enjoying time there. Saigon is my home, have not been home for 30 years, watch your video, want to coming back so bad.
The parade you beheld is an activity called Bách Hoa Bộ Hành which means A parade of a hundred flowers. This is an annual activity which is arranged not only to honor traditional cultural heritage but also spread a message of pride and responsibility to Vietnamese people in cultural identity preservation.
In addition to celebrating International Women’s Day and Ao Dai festival in Saigon, the commitee organized Bach Hoa Bo Hanh exactly on 08 Mar 2025 at Nguyen Hue Street to show appreciation and admiration to Women as well as introduce Vietnamese culture to international friends.
You aren’t wrong, in the south we generally go harder on the seasoning compare to the north, i think the reason is because it’s hotter down here so people sweat away the salt that’s why they want to eat saltier food.
Ps: As for the heat we generally stay in the shade with a cold drink during the hotter time of the day, a jacket/hoodie when going outside also help keep the scorching sun off your skin
